There are several ways to see your BIOS version from within Windows, and they work the same on PCs with a traditional BIOS or a newer UEFI firmware.

To check your BIOS version from the Command Prompt, hit Start, type “cmd” in the search box, and then click the “Command Prompt” result—no need to run it as an administrator.

Lze totiž přepsat právě pomocí flashovací utility a nové verze biosu. Čas od času totiž výrobce základních desek zjistí jisté závady a nedostatky a ty pak řeší novým Biosem. Flashovací utilitu nahrajete na disketu společně s novou verzí biosu (pozor - musí jít o bios přesně pro vaší desku).

Opravdu dbejte na správný výběr verze Biosu a dbejte instrukcí, které jsou součástí balíčku s flashovací utilitou.
