When i remove the update panel it works but obviously refreshes the whole page. Ajax Tab Panel Control Toolkit i am developing a page that contain a tab control toolkit with 3 tab panels. NET Validation controls and Ajax Hi I have one page on which I have a Update panel. I have one Textbox, one dropdown (Autopostback="true"), one Submit button (Causes Validation="true") and one reset button (Causes Validation="false") and requiredfield validator for Textbox. Scenario of Issues: When Page Loads for the first time, then if I click on Submit button, then it causes validation of the textbox. However, in my code the user can simply click on the tab for tab2 and the validators then obviously dont fire. What you need to do is: while the data on the tab is invalid, set the active tab to the current tab (cancelling the user navigation), disable the remaining tabs. You'll have to excuse my ignorance as I am fairly new to web developement, and totally new to AJAX. I am having another issue not although its perhaps for another messageboard. So your next issue, as you said, is probably best placed in another thread, and to be honest, I'm drawing a blank as to what might be causing that.Is there a way I can force the user to stay in the 1st tab if they havent satisied the validation? Step 1: Setting the active tab control, see this post: 2: Disabling panels, see this post: can probably make due with just using Step 1, it's up to you though. The javascript function I am using looks like thisfunction Active Tab Changed(sender, e) and I am calling it from the markup for the tab container, ie, I'm guessing it's causing a recursive call which is causing your browser to choke. When I now try to move to another tab the ajax validation message appears at the very top of my page, rather then alongside the validated item. Perhaps after setting the active tab, try programmatically setting focus to the texbox you are validating. In any case if the above helped, please mark it as the answer so that it may help others down the road. -Brian How do we customize Ajax calendar Control and Ajax Tabbed Panel? The problem is if I any user choose to send email then he has to fill something valid in "omments" section or if anyone wants to post comment then he/she has to fill something valid in email section otherwise form do not postback.
