They were given a chance to redefine the ways things were done in America.She then is given the option of accepting his call by letting him in or rejecting it by making up an excuse as to why she cannot see him.

Teenage girls began to sport sweaters, knee-length skirts, and bobby socks during the 1940s.The style held over into the 1950s, but the 1940s skirts were not as full.Calling and dating are so intrinsically different it is hard to imagine how the transition from one to another was even made.Firstly, calling was practiced with the intention of finding a suitable husband for a young lady; whereas, in dating, this was, and still is, not the primary goal.
